About

Murals:

I will create a custom work of art in your home or business. I work with designers to incorporated colors, patterns and themes in order to compliment a room style …or collaborate with families and businesses in order to put their ideas and themes up on the wall.  I enjoy creating all types of murals and particularly enjoy working with children (the best idea generators), incorporating their imagination in my  work. Please visit my Mural Gallery for examples of the murals I’ve have had the pleasure of painting.

Pen and Ink:

In my dip pen/ink illustrations, I use the traditional dipped-pen and nib techniques to create fine lines on white paper.  Many of the  themes of these works help explain the name “Crickets Eye” …that is to see the world from the perspective of a cricket.

About the Artist

I was brought up in Monroeville, Pa in a neighborhood that was surrounded by wooded areas  that offer all that a artist could want. Creeks with salamanders, crayfish and small waterfalls swirling into moss-sided pools filled with water bugs darting about. Further down, you could find the many colored layers of clay on the banks, dunged out  to make clay animal and coiled pot, unfortunately,  they soon crumble once dried. Within the woods, winding paths open to plots of native flowers and spaces cleared out to expose vines to swing on -”monkey vines”.  This was my first classroom and when I need a refresher course I head outside!

As the season turned, I could anticipate which wild flowers grew where, when to expect the first blackberries, and what conditions would bring about an explosion of mushroom to the forest floor – – all things that would find their way home with me to be painted or drawn. I am earned my BA in Art History with a minor in Music History, which explains the many musicians and their instruments, an occurring theme in my art.   .
